Sergio Lopez Mora

Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Sergio was born in Bogota, Colombia as one of 4 children. In Bogota, he studied at La Universidad Nacional de Colombia for a total of 3 years in which 2 years he studied Mechanical Engineering and 1 year he was a part of the Physical Therapy program.

His studies were put on a temporary hold when his family had to suddenly move to the U.S. Sergio later continued his education and obtained a certification in General Information Technology from a local college in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to his education in Omaha, Sergio was also part of the Sokol South Omaha Gymnastics Club from 2012—2015 as an athlete and then went on to become an assistant coach for boys and girls USAG levels 3-5 under the guidance of Head Coach Vojmir Benak.

Sergio has worked on population research studies for the National Institutes of Health in Nebraska, Iowa and Florida. He has a strong desire to learn more about Science, Technology and how it relates to Humanity but for right now, his interest in gymnastics has brought him to OG. Sergio hopes to bring his knowledge not only of the sport but also his knowledge of life to his students.
