Coach Rita was born and raised in Portugal. While she did not do gymnastics as a child, she spent most of her younger years doing dance, tennis, basketball and field hockey. Coach Rita knew that she wanted to work with children and with her sports background, chose to begin coaching gymnastics. She fell in love and has now been coaching for 2 years. Her favorite event to coach is floor because is encompasses so many element of gymnastics.After high school, Coach Rita attended the Florida Institute of Technology where she obtained her degree in Physiology. Rita has one dog and one brother. When she is not working, she enjoys painting and drawing and she is very creative (check out our monthly bulletin board for some of her work!)
