Coach Michayla was born and raised in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She did gymnastics at a small town gym where she competed up to level 8 after a couple of breaks in her career. She also competed all throughout college. She loves being a leader and she was actually the captain of the club gymnastics team during her time at Florida State University. She graduated from Florida State with her Bachelor's in Psychology and Family & Child Sciences. She is currently going for her Master's degree at Advent Health University in Occupational Therapy.Coach Michayla has 4 sisters who are all older. She has goals of changing the culture of gymnastics to be more focused on the athletes' successes and mental health instead of the tough challenges that come with the sport.
While she doesn't have a favorite event to coach, she has always been fond of floor as a gymnast and is still her favorite event now. In her spare time, she loves to watch tv and go thrift shopping.
