Kaela Thomas

Recreational Gymnastics Coach


Kaela was born in Connecticut and raised in Boston, Massachusetts where she did recreational gymnastics from the age of 5 until she was 8. She then moved to Atlanta where she continued gymnastics from 8 to 12 years old.

Kaela stopped gymnastics and decided to try dance and cheerleading which she participated in until she was 18 years old. Kaela did both dance and color guard during her freshman year and also held positions as both the head base and main back through out her time cheerleading and even attended the 2015 regional championships where her team finished 8th at states. For being an outstanding cheerleader and student, Kaela was chosen to cheer with the Florida Gulf Coast University Cheerleaders at a home basketball game.

Kaela participated in the Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps, a Veterinary Assisting Certification Program, The Criminal Justice and National Honor Society and finished in the top 10% of her class. After high school, Kaela coached recreational gymnastics and peewee cheerleading at Poinciana Dance studio.

Currently, Kaela is attending the University of Central Florida studying Biomedical Sciences in hopes to move on to medical school and become an army surgeon and field medic. In her spare time, Kaela enjoys cooking, baking, watching movies and doing any activity that takes her outdoors including fishing, kayaking and camping.
