Coach Hernan was born in Othello, Washington and grew up in Tri-cities, Washington. Growing up he had a passion for wrestling and wrestled throughout high school. He became interested in doing gymnastics on his own time and began to teach himself gymnastics. He enjoyed going to open gyms to work on his floor skills and get feedback from coaches and athletes. Hernan is currently attending Columbia Basin College to pursue a degree in early childhood education. He also is a certified personal trainer. Although he is going to school for education his dream career is to become a professional wrestler in the WWE.
Coach Hernan started doing gymnastics late in life and hopes to bring the joy he finds doing to it to his athletes. His favorite event to coach is floor and he loves watching his students get new skills.
