Claudia Schefke

Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Claudia was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. At an early age, she started ballet and tap dancing and then transitioned into swimming. By age 9, Claudia was on the gold swim team as a competitive swimmer for the Palos Orlando Swim Association in Orlando Park, IL. In 2009, after switching swim teams, Claudia was part of the Lyons Township regional swim team qualifying for the three different individual races and the relay team.

While in college, Claudia worked at the Hamill Family Play Zoo where she taught nature play classes for families and facilitated special events geared towards children. After graduating from Elmhurst College in 2015, to reach closer to her dream of working with dolphins, Claudia completed several marine mammal internships in the Chicago area as well as in Florida.

Currently, she is a dolphin trainer at Discovery Cove along with being a part of Orlando Gymnastics.
